Ben Griffin:How to write an effective mission mantra

Church planters spend countless hours word-smithing mission and value statements. The problem is that for most organizations, churches especially, mission and value statements look great on paper but flop in the real world. Do we really want to spend hours packaging words whose real world use will be relegated to filler on a website?

Ben Griffin: How to overcome the wall

Good advice to those in business as well. I am convicted when you say that your "personal well-being" had become too attached..for you it is to church, for me it was to career. Lesson learned: I am not defined through the ways of the world but through belief in my salvation through the blood of Jesus.

Ben Griffin:How to deal with criticism

Ben, thanks for this insight. I think you are right on with what you are saying. Its unfortunate that too often our polity and financial support pushes us to become a blazing fire church growing like crazy before we ever get a sold bed of coals, aka a leadership team to carry the church along. Its a fact that we must really take the painstaking time to build those initial leaders and cast the vision among them in order to make the DNA of our church stick. Only when they have caught the vision, or to work with your analogy, caught fire can your church begin to grow. Exponential growth requires a solid base and thats what I pray the churches I partner with will realize and support as I spend the next two years preparing for the launch of our new church plant. Thanks again for the insight Ben!
