If I spent a day with you, what would I discover? If I took a 3-day train ride with you, how would I describe you when we arrived at the station?
Sacramental identity is the unique presence of Christ in you, a God-combo of your Psalm 139 knitting together and your baptism-day-Holy-Spirit washing. It is the predestined, divinely patented you, ordained by your Creator Father for His purposes in the world. In sacramental terms, it is the sacramental Jesus in you, the real presence of Jesus wrapped in your bread and wine.Read More
What would it be like to have to drive 2 hours to get to church? Would you make it every Sunday? Now, add 5 feet of snow to your drive. Would you be in the pew? That drive is what faced many Lutheran’s in St. Ignace, MI. It was that drive, or meeting in a local hotel conference room.Read More
"But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand. " Isaiah 64:8
The City of Detroit and the State of Michigan have significantly higher infant mortality rates than the nation as a whole (19.9 per 1,000 live births compared to a national average of 6.6). One of the contributing causes to the high infant mortality rate is the lack of prenatal instruction and care in underserved communities. Answering this need is The Luke Project 52 Clinic.Read More
OUTREACH REPORT-Elli's House 313
"We saw another young girl walking on the side streets. When we approached her, she immediately put her hands up, and said she didn't want anything from us. She appeared very nervous and was always looking over her shoulder. A man pulled up in a vehicle, beeped at her, and she immediately left our vehicle. About 10 minutes later, she saw us driving, and waved us down. She told us she could take the food now. We gave her a coat, food, and hygiene items. I asked what her name was, and she wouldn't tell me. When we drove away, I told her "Jesus loves you." She looked back at us and said, "My name is B."
As the culture grows farther and farther away from the established church in America, more and more communities find themselves with little to no sign of the presence of Jesus.
At FiveTwo Network, we invest in men and women entrepreneurs who want to connect more people to Jesus and His local church through the launching of new start-ups. Women and men Christian leaders who are starting new expressions of the Gospel.
These leaders are wired to start. They start businesses, non-profits, book clubs, and sports leagues. They start homeless shelters, prenatal clinics and pet clinics. They re-start 70-year-old congregations to focus on young families and re-plant former multi-sites into stand-alone ministries.

Just how different are the answers to these two questions: Who are you? And, What do you do?
Think about that for a minute. What’s really the difference?
While one speaks to your nature, the reality is that when you know your identity, what you do flows more easily and naturally. And if you know Jesus, well, you are who you are because of Jesus. And you do what you do because of Jesus.
Do you know the specific What you should be doing that flows from the Who you are? Do you know your unique Jesus identity?
…and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. – Hebrews 2:15
Happy Holy Week.
Holy Week is the annual week when Christians remember Jesus’ walk from the Upper Room, through the Garden of Gethsemane, to the mount of Golgotha and, then, from the Tomb to a dusty road and a locked room.
It is a walk from Passover to Crucifixion to Resurrection. A meal. A funeral. A party. From life to death to life again.
Behind it all? God’s desire to free us from death and the slavery it brings.Read More
When a Christian entrepreneur wades through the pains of failure, they are led to a deeper understanding of the cross. When everything falls apart, the Chrisitan entrepreneur clings to the only thing they’ve got left, the person and work of Jesus. In the moments where you are brought to your knees in the face of your own failure, the cross stops being just something you read about and becomes a part of your redemption story.Read More
One of my great joys of 2016 was being in Austin, Texas with all of the FiveTwo Network leaders - hearing the joys and challenges of planting and renewal in your movement. It was an honour and privilege to share with you the story of the over 8,000 closed churches in our Anglican 'Church of England' and also the way in which we saw Alpha become our key church planting tool in re-opening some 50 closed, historic churches in that context. Writing to you now from Montreal, Canada I am renewed in my faith that these lessons may indeed provide some key tools for us here in North America.Read More
A vision is a destination. It answers the “Where?” question, painting a picture of where you see the journey taking you. The clarity should be compelling enough that someone is able to see where your organization is going and decide to hop on the plane with you.
Thus our FiveTwo Network’s 2017 Vision. As we seek to equip men and women Christian entrepreneurs who launch a variety of start-ups, here are this year’s stops along the journey. Each of these stops will impact every element of FiveTwo, from our Digital presence to our annual O2 Conference to our monthly Local gatherings to our 2-year StartNew incubator.
We hope you will join us on the journey!Read More
The phone call caught me somewhat by surprise. Her assessment was one of the strongest we had seen in our profile. Her concept was cause-driven and a sure-fire hit. And she was an expert in her field, having worked with abused children as a police officer.
But her confidence in her abilities, coupled with her fear for what would happen if she failed, led her to tell me, “I can’t do this. It’s not going to work.”
Thankfully we talked her off the ledge, and she and her team are nearing launch of a house for runaway girls on the eastside of Detroit.Read More
Social media presents an amazing opportunity to create strong, lasting relationships with an audience that is interested in what you have to offer. There is no other medium that allows for the insights and two-way conversation that social does. So, you love it all the time, right? Not so fast.
When social media is used the correct way it becomes your best tool in the marketing toolbox to get your information to the right audience. When done incorrectly, it can do the exact opposite. With the click of a button your audience can tell all of their friends and family if they love you…or if they don’t. The power lies with them. So, since you can’t ignore social media, how do you successfully navigate social media?Read More
So you’re an entrepreneur who wears the Christian label. You don’t necessarily wear the label on your sleeve, and you hope you don’t have to. But you certainly don’t want to confine it to your back pocket where it goes unseen and unknown.
At the same time, you want your startup to bring Jesus into the community. You want your customers and clients to get to know the One who has changed the world and loves them dearly.
So what does a Christian entrepreneur look like? What traits and behaviors build strong bridges between Jesus and those outside of Jesus’ family?
Try wearing the Grace-Giver label. It has subtle nuances, appearing differently in different lights. At the end of the day, the only unique contribution the Church brings to the world is the grace given by Jesus. Grace-giving should also be the central mark of a follower of Jesus.Read More
So you like to start stuff. You began a piano lesson business at the age of 15. You launched a computer repair service in college. You gathered community leaders together to address the homeless situation and before you knew it, a neighborhood association that truly makes a difference in peoples lives was born.
You really like to start stuff.
And now you’re trying to decide if there’s something you could start that expresses your Christian faith, without it being, you know, over-the-top, in-your-face and all together unappealing to those you want to reach. But how?Read More
